Take this one with a grain of salt, but gaming site 1UP is reporting that it's hearing a new Xbox 360 is in the works and is set to be released next fall in conjunction with the release of Project Natal. That in itself isn't all that newsworthy since it seems pretty logical that Microsoft would put out a new console with the release of its fancy new, you-are-the-controller technology that was demonstrated at E3 this month. However, 1UP is saying that while the new Xbox 360 will carry a new name and be a "new platform," it won't necessarily be much of an upgrade over the existing 360.

Here's the full quote:

"It's not clear what sort of upgrades we might see, but some have suggested it will be a slight upgrade of the current Xbox 360 technology. Current Xbox 360 games would be playable on it, but future games would be able to take advantage of the added muscle."

The article also adds that, "Games played on the more advanced Xbox would look or perform better, but publishers will still be able to support owners of both systems."

Again, this all makes sense, and you'd expect Microsoft (and possibly Sony) to have some new hardware a year from now. But it will interesting to see how Microsoft manages gamers' expectations and the sales of its consoles as it gets closer to releasing Project Natal. It's also important to note that Microsoft has said the new technology will work with existing Xbox 360s so long as you add the new video camera accessory.

How much credence do you think this rumor has? And if Microsoft is indeed going to release a whole new Xbox 360, what do you think it should be called? Xbox 360 Natal doesn't have the greatest ring to it.

you guys realize that we are a xbox and ps3 clan??????? and some members are just xbox members, and you guys wonder why the members from the xbox stopped posting on the forums. they are tired of douche bags giving them shit, its one thing to mess around, but when everyone is constantly bitching about the xbox its makes the clan look like a ps3 clan. its not helping us grow at all.

i don't have a problem with xbox users, just simply a company that makes a sub par product.. 1 breaking sure... but three in a year and a half? i had to beat assassins creed 3 times!

i was just making a point saying xbox pushes for an early release and then end up with unsolved probs like the red ring of death..at least the yellow light of death is a solved mystery

the red ring of death is something that got fixed a long time ago, me and pyro both have a newer gen xbox and haven't had a problem with it, and astro has gone through how many ps3's? i understand that xbox does fail more than ps3's but the xbox is set up a lot more for user friendly stuff, ps3 came out and it was a blue ray player and a game system, and xbox already had movies and netflix streaming though, now ps3 is goin off of the xbox, xbox is a much better system in my opinion. even tho it has a brick for a controller,

and everyone is entitled to thier opinion..but the way im looking at it it seems like xbox rushes the new stuff..n then it doesnt turn out to well...that red ring of death was an issue for awhile...im not saying ps3 is perfect though cuz ive been through like 3...1 was my own fault though..but if you look it seems like xbox is losing all the elite titles to ps3....and last years game of the year came out for ps3 solo..netflix exclusivly had netflix and shit and now ps3 has it..granted you need a disk to run it i think xbox does have better netflix....but if you look at it...xbox has more users...but they also came out a year before the ps3..n ps3 has been catching up since then...in my opinion the ps3 is better for me cuz i like the controller better and its free internet...xbox is a better online gaming system though even though you pay for the internet you get more for it...usually better connections and shit...will sony one day have better servers and shit...maybe...it does just fine for now though...

you also get more stats for online play..ik xbox WAW you could break down your stats to every game mode or overall...which is pretty cool...the xbox 360 vs ps3 fight will go on till one is out of business...or both...its been going on since ps2 vs xbox..it wont end...the better system truthfully comes down to a personal preferance...so if you say xbox sucks...yeah it does...to you...but you cant deny the shit they do over the ps3...even if you have to pay for it;)

But seriously, The PS3 vs Xbox argument can and will go on forever. But it just depends on what system is right for you. If all your friends have one, you will get that one. If your favorite game is one system exclusive, your going to get that one. It all boils down to personal preferance. Shit, the whole Sony Vs. MS argument got old a few years back...

I am on my second PS3 i had a 60 GB it was nice but my 80GB is the shit. Thats why i had it fixed instead of getting another one.

I for one would NEVER buy a 360 just because its an exclusive title. FUCK THAT! I want to play left for dead 1 & 2 like no ones business but i'm not going to shell out 200 or so to play those games.

BTW my PS3's break down cause i play it too much. people that hardly ever play their 360 break all the time(my friend Joe plays it once a week at the most, died in a year. i play mine for 6+ hours everyday!! That's big difference to me.
